9 Caught buying cars

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of theft after buying cars with stolen checks, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

35-year-old Raza Rafiq of Pargetter Street, Walsall, was sentenced to serve six and a half years in prison after being found guilty of thefts at the Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The court heard how Rafiq, used the checks that had been stolen during burglaries at Moorside Gardens and the Afro Carribean Centre on Wolverhampton Street.

On three separate occasions, he visited a Walsall car dealership and purchased a Ford Focus, Vauxhall Insignia and a BMW 1 series totaling more than 25,000 pounds.
